Female figure in sericite marble, one of only two complete stelae from Petit-Chasseur. A rectangular nose, a dotted pectoral with a large bead, arms folded on the belly, a chequered belt with loops and a torso covered with lozenges and chevrons. Broken in four, it lay face up next to cist M X.
Thanks to the laser survey and the extracted model, new engraving marks were discovered on the back of the stele, indicating its reuse; these marks are oriented differently from those on the front.Image and text after the publication “Stèles préhistoriques – La nécropole néolithique du Petit-Chasseur à Sion – Musées cantonaux du Valais”.Petit-Chasseur 2021 report (PDF, in French).
